Review: I am struggling to write this review. I’m torn between “Eh, it was OK” and “I sort of like this book”. The overall concept was unique and the story really has potential, but I don’t think it was well executed. The first chapter drags, it gives a lot of background in a straightforward way. The book is like a strange and inconsistent ride, sometimes I’d feel sucked in and like I was moving with the momentum, then suddenly I’d be jerked to a stop and the book would drag. I also felt like there was a strange split in the plot, at first we were learning about what Katie is and what her role will be, then suddenly we are learning about this place where Moon Angels live, and then suddenly there is some war-like action thrown in. Perhaps if the book were longer, the transitions could have been better and more fluid.

I also had a few problems with the writing: the book takes place in US, but is written in UK English; there is a lot of repetitive sentence structure; and the conversations between teens do not feel real – it’s too proper. The book also ends suddenly – like literally out of nowhere, it’s not a cliffhanger.
In my opinion, this book would benefit from some fleshing out, and a few good rounds of editing. The concept of Moon Angels, what they do and where they live is awesome and there are some parts of this book that were well written.
I received a copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
